Got Certified as a Scrum Master now. Had been planning to get one for a long time. Never got an opportunity though. With pete [deemer] conducting a training workshop in gurgaon, i didn't want to miss this opportunity. It is relatively rare that he conducts training in the ncr.
Earlier, just a participation in the training workshop would assure you of the certification; however starting oct'09, there is a mandatory online exam that needs to be taken to be certified as a scrum master. Initially i was a bit apprehensive about the exam as i knew i wouldn't be able to spare much time preparing for one. However, i decided to give it a go and to my surprise the exam was relatively easy. PMP ofcourse was many times difficult to crack and CSM test was more of a formality if you knew scrum well.
The best part was the training conducted by pete. Oh man, was he good ... The entire two day sessions were lively and highly interactive and informative. Driving down to gurgaon from noida was a pain, but i am glad i did that.
