I was searching for some algorithms when i stumbled upon this one.
Had always wondered why there isn't a good music search engine that will help me sing a tune and find matching songs. It is very difficult to remember the title of a song or the name of its singer. It is more easy to remember the tune though. This was one area untapped. The good news is that Midomi has come up with an engine which will allow one to use his/her voice to search for a song by humming a tune. Though there are other players like nayio in this area, but midomi seems much better. However, it has still to go a long way. There is scope for lot of improvements & more advanced algorithms based on voice. This will definitely fly. More so with more funding (see here)coming its way. I am still exploring this site though.
